Holland's Wesley Sneijder said his side's victory over Uruguay was 'unforgettable' after the Dutch reached their first World Cup final in 32 years with victory over the South Americans.

Marching on: Wesley Sneijder starts the celebrations at the full time whistle as Holland reach the World Cup final

Sneijder, who's deflected goal gave Holland a crucial 2-1 lead said: "This is unforgettable".

"It was a tough fight and towards the end we complicated matters. Sunday, we play in the World Cup final. I have to get used to that."

"It was a hard match, but all that is forgotten now and we are in the final," said Sneijder, who now has five goals at the tournament.

"The most important thing now is to win. We are so close. There is nothing bigger than the World Cup."

Holland coach Bert van Marwijk said his side should feel proud of their achievements in South Africa.

"This is very special," van Marwijk said. "After 32 years, we play the final again. Such a small country. We can be very proud of this."

The Dutch press raved following the final whistle, with Holland reaching the World Cup final for the third time in their history.

"Now for gold," said the popular daily De Telegraaf, who added that midfielder Wesley Sneijder "has again liberated the Dutch team".

"Thirty-two years after losing a final to Argentina, the Netherlands has again reached the final of the World Cup," said the popular Algemeen Daglad newspaper under a screaming title: "Orange in the finals!"

Holland will play the winners of tomorrow's semi-final between Spain and Germany on Sunday at Johannesburg's Soccer City stadium.
