Tim Howard says the USA are "hyped up" for the biggest game of their lives.

The Everton keeper and his side moved to Rustenburg last night and hammered out a warning that the USA are sick of kicking each other in training games, and are prepared for some real action.

Howard said: "We are ready to get it on. All the talk is over. We know what kind of game we are in for, we are under no illusions. I can't think of a better chance for us in the first game.

"We prefer having England first. We are so ready and prepared and hyped up. The nerves are kicking in already and that is a good thing.

"Our mentality is good. Anyone who has been in that situation of being in camp knows that you get tired of it, tired of kicking each other and tired of just training. We want to play.

"It is going to be pretty incredible. I don't know what is going to be better, watching it as a fan like my friends in the bar in the States or actually playing in it. The people back home are going to be kicking every ball with us. I really think our country is going to stop for this game. It is a lot of pressure on us but it is pretty cool to see how far we have come."

Howard says the US are ready for a set-piece bombardment from England and will avoid conceding fouls.

"I believe that if you get a number of free-kicks or set-pieces against you then you will give away goals. I don't know the stats but so many goals come from that. You will get punished if you commit fouls. Our defenders don't want to get caught one on one because then it is harder to avoid giving away fouls."

The shot stopper says it is difficult to choose between England's keepers adding: "England has very good keepers. David James has played at the highest level for God knows how long and he has the shut-out record. He has played in Cup finals and huge games for England. It is easy to criticize him but you have to look deeper than that. He puts in amazing performances.

"Joe Hart is up and coming, he can be spectacular but he is also consistent. And I have always liked Robert Green. I like players who are steady like that. He is not flashy but he just gets the job done."
