Strop: Samuel Eto'o is not happy with comments made by Roger Milla |
Inter Milan forward Eto'o has reacted angrily to the 1990 World Cup star's assessment of his performances for the Cameroon national side and has told France's Canal Plus Sport he may walk away from the tournament altogether.
"Is it worth me going to the World Cup?" Eto'o said.
"I still have a few days to think about it but I will see if my participation is important because I don't need this in my career."
"It's always just before the major tournaments that the old geezers wake up. What's Milla done? He hasn't won the World Cup, his team played in the quarter-finals."
Cameroon manager Paul Le Guen has named Eto'o in his 23-man World Cup squad, despite the striker's claims.
Eto'o missed Saturday's 1-1 draw with Slovakia, but Le Guen has still named him in his 23.
While striker Jacques Zoua was already out through injury, Le Guen cut another six names from his squad.
Jean Patrick Abouna Ndzana, Amour Patrick Tignyemb, Makadji Boukar, Jean Patrick Abouna Ndzana, Marcel Ndjeng, Patrick Mevoungou and Dorge Kouemaha are the names dropped.
Arsenal's Alex Song - and veteran uncle Rigobert - will be on the plane, as will Tottenham pair Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Sebastien Bassong.
