Frank Lampard believes England boss Fabio Capello has succeeded in his mission to revive the national team as the World Cup approaches.

The failure to qualify for Euro 2008 under Steve McClaren led to Capello's appointment and the Italian has transformed the team's fortunes.

Lampard told the Daily Mirror: "We are going into this World Cup with a very good mindset, especially when you compare where we are to where we were. There was a time when we played for England when we didn't believe we could beat anybody, almost. Now there is a real belief when we run out on to the pitch."
