Fabio Capello last night told his England stars: "I want you to be like Wayne Rooney."

The Manchester United ace has been a non-stop bundle of energy at England's World Cup training camp in the Austrian Alps.

Capello admitted that Rooney's approach to every session is exactly what he wants as the countdown to South Africa heats up.

And the England boss wants the rest of his squad to not only see how dedicated Rooney is, but emulate his attitude.

Capello said: "Wayne Rooney is one of the best talents I have ever coached. He's like Raul, in that he's a very important player and a big talent.

"Every time Rooney trains he wants to learn and he always wants to stay on that training pitch for as long as possible.

"It's really important that the other players see that Rooney, one of the best players in the world, wants to stay on the pitch and wants to continue to learn."
