Roy Keane is not relying on coaching courses to help him revive Ipswich.

The lowly Championship club have had their worst season for over 50 years.

Keane admits that he has been “given the benefit of the doubt” by owner Marcus Evans to keep his job at Portman Road.

But the former Sunderland boss hopes to come through his make-or-break period without further course work.

“I'm sick of courses,” he said. “I've had a busy four or five years on various courses and I'm not planning any more.

“The last year working at this club is the best course I could have had.”

He will be taking in some World Cup action and hopes to see his 19-year-old defender Tommy Smith playing for New Zealand.
