Germany's first-choice goalkeeper Rene Adler could be set to miss the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ after breaking a rib in training, it was reported on 20 April.
The 25-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star is German coach Joachim Low's first-choice goalkeeper, but the injury throws his place in South Africa into question.
Adler won the first of his nine caps in October 2008 and along with Schalke's Manuel Neuer and Werder Bremen's Tim Wiese was set to travel to South Africa to battle for Germany's Number One shirt.
Germany have drawn Australia, Serbia and Ghana in Group D and play warm-up matches against Malta on 13 May, Hungary in Budapest on 29 May and Bosnia-Herzegovina on 3 June.
