Football Spy reveal USA's World Cup secrets

The USA had a spy in their camp yesterday as MirrorFootball infiltrated their final training session... and pumped iron with England's rivals.

Donning my gym kit, I bypassed tight security and CIA men to claim a place in the luxury gym at a Sun City hotel to test the mood behind the scenes in the American camp.

All week the USA media have started their question with "I'm not a Capello spy," before asking about his tactics and formations. At one point Bradley even joked: "So do we have any Capello spies here?" to which the British reporters raised their hands and identified themselves.

But yesterday I joined Bradley and his key USA backroom staff to listen for clues about their formation, last minute injuries and fitness updates, and pulled off a few Pilates moves just to look the part.

And I discovered the USA are in a big sweat. A very big sweat, over this game.

In fact, the amiable Bradley's shirt splashed as I said hello, slapped him on the back and grabbed a souvenir picture. "Apologies for that. I'm a bit sweaty," said the American who has impressed with his charm and preparation this week.

Hot under the collar the USA may have been yesterday morning, but confidence is clearly very high.

Bradley said: "We can't wait. We are enjoying every moment, loving it. The players have been joking about all the wildlife around our hotel and having fun. We are relaxed, we've stayed up here before last summer. It is just excitement to get on with it."

With that, Bradley grabbed another dumb-bell, curled it up to his chest, and continued his punishing work-out, proving he is in tip top shape.

Californian Bradley, 52, may be paid 20 times less than £6million a year Fabio Capello and have worked his way through the ranks of US college and professional soccer to take on the Italian master.

But he is certainly fighting fit for tonight.
